Obituary of Jennifer M. Rice

Jennifer M. Rice, age 43, of Westmoreland passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 after a long illness. She was born in Utica, New York on February 10, 1981. She was the daughter of the late Ivan Rice and Christine (Cieri) Pett. Jennifer was a graduate of Westmoreland school. She received her Associate's degree from Herkimer County Community College in Human Services and went on to earn her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from SUNY Poly.

Jenny was known for her big heart and willingness to help anyone she could. She cherished any opportunity to spend time with her family and friends. She always made sure to make great food and snacks for everyone to enjoy. Jenny enjoyed spending time outside gardening and always took pride in her flowers in her yard. She had a very strong love for all animals especially her fur babies Peanut and Manny. Her absolute greatest joy in life was being a mother to her son Prince Ivan.

Jennifer is survived by her son Prince Ivan Brown, mother and step-father Christine and Floyd Pett, sister Jessica Pett (Ryan Rocker), nieces Kaliana and Aryelle, her fiancé John Goodman all of Westmoreland, NY, her maternal grandmother Eileen Cieri of Clinton, NY, along with many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends. Jennifer was predeceased by her father Ivan Rice and maternal grandfather Louis Cieri.

Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home at 23 Front Street Vernon, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be on Wednesday, September 18, 2024, at 9:00 a.m. at the Church of Annunciation, 7616 E. South Street, Clark Mills, NY.
