Obituary of Robert H. Blazer
Please share a memory of Robert to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Robert H. Blazer was born on August 7, 1936 in Brooklyn, New York. Without ever swimming, Bob enlisted in the United States Navy and served during the Korean War. Bob, as he was known, met the love of his life, Rowena Magee, at the Roseland Ballroom in New York City. They married in 1959, and remained married until Rowena's passing in June 2016. Bob lived his life with enthusiasm, passion, strength, and class. He was enthralled by the natural world and the animals that inhabited it. In 1989, Bob and Rowena moved to Vernon Center, NY, which served as his personal wildlife sanctuary. Robert left this world the afternoon of June 5, 2024, on his trip to paradise, where he reunited with his soul mate, and is survived by his two daughters, Frances (Michael) and Robin (David), and three grandchildren, Daniel, William, and Emma. Special thanks to the staff at the Veterans Home, Oxford, especially the Pine Neighborhood, for making Bob's final months comfortable. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the NYS Veterans Home Volunteer Guild (Pine Neighborhood) in Oxford, NY, 4207 State Hwy 220, Oxford, NY 13830.
