Obituary of "Sam" Green

Sam Green, 73 of Munnsville, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on February 6,2024. 

 She was a graduate of Canastota High School and graduated from Morrisville College and became a registered nurse. She worked many years with Oneida City Hospital and Extended Care Facility, Rome DDSO, and the Lutheran Home until her retirement. 

 She married the love of her life Joel Green in 1969 and shared this life for over 54 years. Her biggest enjoyment was spending time with her family, being home on their mountain, old country music, dancing, holiday dinners, and cookie day. 

Surviving is her husband Joel, daughter Ronda (Mike) Porter, sons Joseph (Darla), William (Heather), and Robert Green and Lizzie Pierce. She also has 15 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Her sister Ruth Bort, and brother Robert (Sherry) Tucker and mother Dorothy, her sister in laws Elaine Stepp and Pearl Portwood, as well as many nieces and nephews. Friends  

Jen R., Janet and Mike C. She was predeceased by her father Robert, sisters Dorothy and Marilyn, and 2 grandchildren.  

Per her request there will be no calling hours. Burial will be at the convenience of her family at Maple Grove Cemetery in Vernon. Donations can be made to Oneida ECF residents’ fund. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
