Albin Kurt Pedersen
SHERRILL >> Albin Kurt Pedersen died at home in Sherrill on June 19, 2015 at the age of 85. Mr. Pedersen was born in Denmark.
He is survived by his wife Dawn (Woodcock) whom he married April 23, 2015. He married his first wife, Helga, in Denmark in 1955. She died in Sherrill in 2012. Albin and Helga have two sons, Eric who lives in Spring Grove, Ill., and Steen in Canastota. There are two granddaughters, Kirsten and Emily. Also, there are two special family friends in Denmark, Kirsten and Henrik Birck.
His wife Dawn knew Albin and Helga for 11 years. She assisted Helga during her declining years while she was confined to the Pedersen home.
Albin was taken into the Danish Army during the Korean War. After his military service, he and his family left Denmark and immigrated to Canada. Oneida Ltd. learned about his skills, hired him, and he moved to Sherrill.
He worked at Oneida Ltd. from 1963 until he retired in 1994. He worked as a designer- craftsman. He was a master silver and goldsmith. His design expertise was used in all facets of Oneida Limited's range of products. From an initial drawing, he created original three-dimensional design models for flatware, hollowware, and giftware. His countless original models would then be used to develop master tooling for new products. Albin was also accomplished at photography, carving, and oil painting.
There will be no calling hours or services. Local arrangements are being handled by the Malecki Funeral Home.
