Obituary of Daniel W. Schieferstine

Verona-Daniel W. Schieferstine, age 63, of Spring Road passed way unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, November 14, 2023.
He was born on January 11, 1960 in Oneida, New York a son of the late Donald B. and Ann (West) Schieferstine and was a graduate of the Westmoreland Schools.
On September 14, 1985 Daniel and Laurie L. Snell were united in marriage in Lowell, NY and have shared that loving vow of over thirty-eight years together.
Daniel was a lifelong herdsman on the Schieferstine Dairy Farm in Rome prior to his retirement in 2021.
In his spare time, he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and camping. He was a beekeeper and was always up for a game of cards with his best friend Mike. He most enjoyed his role of Papa to Gage and Quinn.
Surviving is his wife, Laurie L. Schieferstine of Verona, two sons, Matt Schieferstine of Verona, and Josh and daughter-in-law Emily Schieferstine of Vernon, two grandchildren Gage and Quinn, two brothers and sisters-in-law, David and Bonnie Schieferstine of Rome and Dwayne and Tressa Schieferstine of Vernon, several brother and sister in laws , several nieces, nephews their families and special friend Mike Smith
Daniel was predeceased by his mother Ann, father Donald, and brother Douglas.
The family will gather privately to say goodbye. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
