Obituary of William F. Scott

Vernon-William F. Scott, age 75, of Vernon passed away early Wednesday morning November 8, 2023 in the Oneida Healthcare.

He was born on June 17, 1948 in Utica, New York a son of the late Clarence E. and Helen E. (Schmidt) Scott and was a graduate of the Vernon Verona Sherrill Schools.

On January 7, 1969 Bill entered the United States Army and was stationed in Germany during the Vietnam Era before being honorably discharged on December 30, 1970.

He was a member of the VFW Post 9591 of Clinton, American Legion Post 230 of Sherrill and was a past commander of the William Russell American Legion Post 404 of Vernon.

Bill was usually dressed in balck and enjoyed playing guitar at many northern clubs especially at the Camden American Legion.

Surviving are his two daughters, Shelley Nowak of Utica and Melissa (John) Perry of Rome, ten grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

In keeping with Bill's wishes there will be no public services. Private burial will be with military honors in Skinner Cemetery, Lyon Road, Vernon Center, NY. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home of Vernon. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com
