Obituary of Jane Congdon

Vernon-Jane Congdon age 91, a former Vernon resident and Utica resident passed away early Wednesday November 23, 2022 at the Utica Rehabilitation Nursing Center.

  She was born on December 1, 1930 in Holland Patent a daughter of the late Maxwell “Fred” and Versia E. (Franisco) Brenning and was a graduate of Holland Patent Schools.

  Jane married Russell S. Congdon on May 20, 1950 in Verona, New York and shared that vow until Russell’s death on April 27, 1992.

She was of the catholic faith.  Jane was a homemaker who enjoyed working in her vegetable and flower gardens and landscaping in her yard. In her spare time she cared for her many animals; dogs, cats, horses and even a monkey.

   Surviving are her three sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Brenning, Beverly Brenning and Mary Ann Brenning, a friend and caregiver Louis Macri and special friend Esther Jusza and many nieces, nephews and other relatives, to many to mention.

  Due to inclement weather conditions Jane will be buried in Olden Barneveld Cemetery, Mapledale Rd. Barneveld, NY, next to her husband the late Russell S. Congdon in the spring on a date and time to be announced. Arrangements are with the Malecki Funeral Home Inc. of Vernon. Online condolences may be sent to maleckifuneralhome.com.
