Patrick W. Kahl
Oriskany-Patrick W. Kahl, age 68, of Utica Street passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon May 24, 2015 at St. Luke's Healthcare with his loving family at his side.
He was born on January 25, 1947 in Nuremburg, Germany a son of the late Kenneth and Mary (Phelps) Kahl. Patrick was pursuing an his associate's degree in criminal justice at Mohawk Valley Community College when he was drafted into the U.S. Army in 1967 and was honorably discharged in 1969 after being awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
On March 2, 1974 Patrick and Patricia A. Means were united in marriage in St. Paul's Catholic Church of Whitesboro.
Prior to his retirement in 2010 Patrick was employed with the Oneida County Sherriff's Department with nearly forty years of service to law enforcement.
He was dedicated to his career and to his family.
Surviving are his wife Patricia of New Hartford, two sons and one daughter-in-law, Scott P. (Bobbi Jo) Kahl of Remsen and Stephen P. Kahl of Oriskany, three brother and three sisters-in-law, Kevin (Mary Jo) Kahl of Syracuse, Keith (Tina) Kahl of Sherrill, Timothy (Rosa) Kahl of Oriskany, two sisters and two brothers-in-law, Ellen (Patrick) Burns of Williamstown and Kathleen (Larry) Snow of Lee, as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and one brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Belinda Kahl formerly of Annsville.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street Vernon. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Church, Peterboro Street, Vernon.
