Obituary of Donald R. Christian

Blossvale-Donald R. Christian, age 89, formerly of Blossvale and more recently of the Keepsake Village at Greenpoint passed away peacefully Sunday afternoon, May 23, 2021 at the Keepsake Village. He was born on May 23, 1932 in Oneonta, New York a son of the late Howard and Orpha (Butler) Christian and attended Oneonta Schools. In 1951 Don enlisted with the United States Air Force and honorably served his country until his discharged in 1954. He married Margaret Mathey in West Winfield on November 17, 1956 and shared that loving union of thirty-three years until her death in 1989. Prior to his Don's retirement he was employed with Alltel Telephone for over forty years as a telephone installation and maintenance repairman. Don lived on Oneida Lake and was an avid fisherman and hunter. Surviving are his five children, Mary Bristol, Donna Bonfardeci, Donald H. Christian, Stephen Christian and Peter Christian, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Don was predeceased by a grandson Cody Christian. In keeping with Donald's wishes there will be no calling hours or funeral services. Private burial for the family will be in Stockbridge Cemetery, Stockbridge, New York.
