Obituary of Brenda L. Harris
Verona-Brenda L. Harris, age 54, of Spring Road passed away peacefully at her home on Saturday morning, May 15, 2021. Born on April 18, 1967 in Huntington, New York, she was the daughter of the late Floyd Bean and Barbara (Tracy) Bean.
Brenda married the love of her life, Daniel, on March 25, 1995 in the Verona United Methodist Church and were gifted of four beautiful children.
A graduate of a 1985 graduate of Walt Whitman High School in Long Island,
Brenda enjoyed tap and jazz dancing. Once she moved Upstate, she took up a bigger love: Dan and her children. She passionately advocated for her children and all children with autism and was an active supporter of the Upstate Cerebral Palsy Center. Brenda was the keynote for a UCP telethon to raise autism awareness.
Surviving are her loving husband Daniel J. Harris of Verona, her four beloved children, Samuel A. Harris of Vernon Center, Allie E. Harris of Verona, Jessie A. Harris and Morgan L. Harris both of Rome, her mother Barbara Bean of Avon Park, Florida, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Doug (Marge) Bean of Brooklyn, Mickey (Diane) Bean of Sommerfield, Florida, and Marty (Debbie) Bean of Norwich, one sister and brother-in-law, Ann (Steve) Baese of Port St. Lucie, Florida, several nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Brenda was predeceased by her brother Steven Bean in 1979 and her father Floyd Bean in 2018.
Family and friends are invited to call on Thursday, May 20, 2021 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street Vernon, where face coverings and social distancing will be practiced. Graveside services will be held on Friday at 2:00 p.m. at New Union Cemetery, Verona.
