Obituary of Fariduddin A. Bhuiyan

Vernon-Farid Bhuiyan of Vernon, NY passed away on January 3, 2021, at the age of 59 after a lengthy illness. He was born the son of Khaiz Bhuiyan and Mariam Akhter of Bangladesh on June 6, 1961. He immigrated to New York City in his early twenties. In the fall of 1985, he met the love of his life Charlene Hoffman. They married on October 25, 1986, and went on to build their life together in Vernon. Farid worked at Oneida Limited for several years and later continued on with Sherrill Manufacturing. He enjoyed watching the NY Yankees and, "Survivor," working on projects around the house, and spending every minute he could with family, especially his grandson. Farid was often thought of as a quiet guy, but could really make you laugh once you got to know him. He loved to share his cooking with everyone he could and enjoyed being surrounded by those he loved. He had an unmatched work ethic and was an inspiration to those around him. He was always willing to help someone in need and believed working hard and being a good person were of the utmost importance in life. Farid is predeceased by his wife Charlene Bhuiyan (Hoffman) and both his parents Khaiz Bhuiyan and Mariam Akhter. He is survived by his daughter Tania Davis (Bhuiyan) and her fiancé Adam Schwartz, his daughter Alicia Bhuiyan and her life partner Michael Baker, his brother Zahiruddin Bhuiyan and his wife Nigar Sultana, his brother Kafiluddin Bhuiyan, his sister Naheed Akhter and her husband Ayer Bhuiyan, and his sister Nasreen Akhter and her husband Md. Shaheenul Chowdhury. He is also survived by his grandson and "little buddy," Jamisyn Davis, and his brothers and sisters-in-law Susan Teachout of North Carolina, Betty Tuttle of Hamilton, Sandra Borys of Sherrill, Charles and Anne Hoffman of Florida, John Hoffman of Oneida, and Mike and Heidi Hoffman of Vernon, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held at the Malecki Funeral Home 23 Front, Vernon on Friday January 8, 2021 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. where CDC restrictions require wearing of face coverings and social distancing.
