Gerhard "Gary" Denninger
Liverpool-Gerhard "Gary" Denninger, age 99 of Liverpool and , formerly of Lakeland, Florida passed away Thursday morning January 15, 2015 in St. Joseph's Hospital of Syracuse.
He was born on October 29, 1915 in Theresa, WI, a son of the late George A. and Bertha (Beuchel) Denninger and was a graduate of their local schools.
In December of 1942 Gary enlisted with the United States Army where he served his country until December of 1945 when he was honorably discharges as Staff Sergeant.
Prior to his retirement Gary was employed in the Lakeland, Fl, area as a pharmaceutical representative.
Gary was a member of the Lakeland United Methodist Church, a life member of the Milwaukee, WI, VFW and enjoyed walking and playing cards.
On September 25, 1993 Gary and the former Hazel Buss were united in marriage and the couple shared a loving relationship that took them on many vacations and cruises around the world. Hazel passed away on December 4, 2014.
Surviving are one son Glenn A. Denninger, of West Allis, WI, sister-in-law, Dorothy Sturdevant of Canastota, nephew, Alan (Barbara) Denninger of Rhineland, WI, other relatives include Robert Sturdevant Jr. of Canastota and his family, Robert Sturdevant III, Heather Sturdevant and Robin Harvell, Linda Sturdevant of Canastota, Harriet Manning of Syracuse, James Craver of Liverpool, Michael Craver of Baldwinsville, and Leon Craver of Baldwinsville and several great-grand-nieces and great-grand-nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday January 24, 2015 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 23 Front Street, Vernon. Gary's funeral service will held Saturday at 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following calling hours. Spring burial with military honors will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Vernon, New York.
