Verona-William G. "Bill" Berdanier, age 73, of State Rt. 365 passed away unexpectedly early Thursday morning October 25, 2018 at his home.
Bill was born on November 14, 1944 in Oneida, New York a son of the late George "Rosie" and Luella I. (Tooke) Berdanier and was a 1964 graduate of V.V.S. School.
In his early working career Bill was employed for thirteen years with the Oneida Limited Silversmith and later went on to be employed for thirty seven years with the maintenance department of TimBar Packaging of Vernon.
On October 1, 2011 Bill and Sally Roher were united in marriage at their home in Verona. He was a lifelong member of the Verona Fire Department and was a member of the Vernon Rod and Gun Club.
Bill's many hobbies included, hunting, camping, clambakes and bowling at City Lanes in Oneida. He also enjoyed watching NASCAR, SU sports and Buffalo Bills football on television.
He is survived by his wife Sally Roher-Youngs Berdanier, three sons, William Berdanier, Jason Berdanier (Rhenell Evans) and Adam Berdanier (Cathryn Rudd), five step-children, three grandsons, Aidan, Logan and Landon Berdanier, one sister Marie (Edward) Baronowski, 24 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren, one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law, also two best friends, Jeff Hull and Pete Geer and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday, October 30, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY. Funeral services will be at 6:00 p.m. at the funeral home immediately following the calling hours. Private burial will be in Oneida Castle Cemetery at a later date.
