Obituary of John M. Mullaney

John M. Mullaney Vernon-John M. Mullaney, age 92, of State Rt. 26, passed away peacefully Friday evening March 3, 2017 in the Faxton-St. Luke's Healthcare Center with his loving family by his side. He was born on October 21, 1924 in Lyons Falls, New York a son of the late John M. Mullaney and Anna (Krug) Mullaney Bigda and attended the Lyons Falls Schools. On April 1, 1943 John enlisted with the United State Army and served his country during WW II and was honorably discharged on April 2, 1946. On November 22, 1950 John and Lorraine Brower united in marriage in St. Peter's Catholic Church in N. Utica, New York and haved shared this blessed vow of over 66 years together, John was a member of Holy Family Church of Vernon. He enjoyed traveling with his wife in their RV for over twenty years and saw the whole world. His biggest enjoyment was the times spent with his family whom he adored. Surviving are his wife, Lorraine of Vernon, one daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Anthony Oliveri of Webster, NY, one grandaugher and her husband, Sara and Emeka Olumba of Washington DC, one grandson Benjamin Oliveri of Taipei, Taiwan,four sisters-in-law and two brothers-in-law, Helen Gray of Marcy, Mary Jones of Schuyler, Benjamin and Marjorie Brower of Barneveld, Barbara and Richard Kelly of Venice, FL. He also leaves behind many dear nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his sister Florence Ford, and sister-in laws Esther Nuber and Sharon Brower, and brother-in-laws Robert Gray, Ted Jones, and John Nuber. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at 11:00 a.m in Holy Family Church, Peterboro Street, Vernon, NY. Spring burial with military honors will be in St. Peter's Cemetery, N. Utica, New York. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the Vernon Volunteer Fire Dept., PO Box 773, Vernon, NY, 13476.
