Frances V. Bartell
Rome-Frances V. Bartell, also known as Mom, Gram, GG, and Triple G joined her Heavenly family and passed into the hands of her Beloved Savior, Jesus Christ on August 17, 2016.
She was born on July 2, 1916 to Birdsal and Julia (Sheldon) Casler.
Her early years were spent along the Seneca River in Jacks Reefs fishing and swimming with her sister Judy. Many stories have been told of the trouble they used to get into.
She married the love of her life, Donald B. Bartell on June 21, 1936, moved to Vernon, NY, in 1938, having many happy years until his early passing in 1974.
Mom was a homemaker, devoted to her children, always cooking and baking, always listening, but scolding when we needed it.
As we grew older and the" empty nest" occurred she found pleasure working in the Wm Wettle Elementary school Cafeteria in Vernon, making new friends, especially the children.
She is survived by one son Richard (Janice) Bartell of Calif., her two daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannine McAdoo Damon (John Jr.) of Rome and Laurie(Vince) Carey of Forestport, eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a very special great-great-granddaughter Hannah , and several nieces and nephews.
Mom was predeceased by her spouse, three sisters, three brothers, a beloved grandson, Jay Michael McAdoo, a special niece, Marilyn Walker.
Mom was truly loved by all who knew her, especially a longtime friend and neighbor Carol Reese.
We extend our most sincere appreciation to Dr. Barbara Connor and her office staff who she dearly loved, and to the Rome Memorial RHCF 3N staff that treated her as family and in her own words.
"Thank you, and have a nice day".
We will miss you Mom, but we know the gates of Heaven have opened and you are Home.
