Edward B. Agan
New Hartford- Edward B Agan of New Hartford died on April 11, 2016.
Born in Rome N.Y. on April 19, 1928, he was the youngest of three children of Oakley N. Agan Sr. and Ethel Belines Agan. He was raised in Taberg where he received his early education; graduated from Camden High School Class of 1945.
Following graduation, during the waning days of World War II he enlisted in the Air Force and served with the occupation France in Europe. He received his Honorable Discharge in 1948. He again entered the service in 1951 (Korean War) and received his discharge in 1953, after which he worked for several local companies before being employed by IBM in 1956, where he worked in many capacities for 21 years. During his employment with IBM he completed his higher education from Syracuse University receiving my degree in 1961.
He moved to Florida in 1977 working fourteen years for Pepsi Cola Bottling Company as Credit Manager. He retired in 1992. He moved to his current home in Applewood Community in 2006.
At one time he was married to Jean Allen of Syracuse.
He is predeceased by his parents and brother Oakley Jr., in 1965.
He is survived by a sister, Muriel Landa, ME; nieces Karen Rampton, CA; Jill Williams, Verona; Janice Geer, Oneida; nephews David Landa, ME; Kevin Landa, PA; Jeffery Agan, Oneida; and Joel Agan, Sherrill; several cousins and a host of friends locally as well as in Florida and England. Also, he is survived by his cherished canine, PJ, a gorgeous lovable little Puggle (Pug/Beagle). He knows she will miss her dad.
He is a member of the Utica Seventh-Day Adventist Church; however it is his request that there be no visitation. A service will be held on Sunday April 17, 2016 at 3:00P.M. at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, located on 1134 Herkimer Road, Utica, NY 13502. Following the service there will be a reception in the church hall. Burial will be in Rome Cemetery at the convenience of his family. Arrangements are entrusted to Malecki Funeral Home, Inc.
