Obituary of Kathleen M. Hill

Kathleen M. Hill Sherrill – Kathleen M. Hill, age 61, of Primo Avenue, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday afternoon, December 2, 2015 at her home. She was born on February 12, 1954 in Oneida, New York, a daughter of the late Charles and Anna Jones. In her youth, Kathy attended the Oneida District and later went on to graduate from V.V.S. Central Schools and BOCES where she received her certificate in cosmetology. On February 26, 1977, Kathy and Terry Hill were united in marriage at St. Helena's Church of Sherrill and the couple has shared a blessed union together. Kathy was a hairdresser her entire career and for many years shared in the owning and operating of BJ's Boutique of Sherrill. Through her beautician skills and personality, she was able to build lasting friendships with many in the community. She was as loyal and caring to her customers as they were to her. She was a member of St. Helena's Church of Sherrill where she sang in their choir. Additionally, she was a member of the Sherrill-Kenwood Fire Department. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her husband and daughter and immensely enjoyed their trips to Disney World and Lancaster, PA. She also enjoyed talking on the phone with friends and times spent with her two fluffy canine companions, Sassy and Kermit. Surviving is her husband Terry, her daughter, Katelyn M. Hill of Tucson, AZ, sister Elizabeth (Bill) Pelot of Kirkville, two brothers, Charles (Wendy) Jones of Stockbridge and Patrick (Denise) Jones of NJ, nieces Abbey Pelot, Maureen Schroettner (Paul), Meredith and Lilianna Jones; and nephews Charles, Ethan, and Reilly Jones. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to friends Georgia and Sue for their kind and compassionate care shown to Kathy during her illness. Family and friends are invited to call on Sunday, December 6, 2015 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Malecki Funeral Home Inc., 464 Sherrill Rd., Sherrill, NY. A Celebration of Kathy's life will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. at St. Helena's Church, Primo Ave, Sherrill, NY. Burial will follow in St. Helena's Cemetery, Oneida, NY.
